Re:ladder donations
Thanks so much! When we started today the wish list was for 20' extension ladders. I still have two requests out for those however, Werner, a ladder manufacturer is sending an entire truckload (approximately 700 ladders) tomorrow straight to Galveston county at their own expense.
The logistics of trying to get donations to the right place was an issue and this solved so many issues all at one time. I have requests out to the major box stores but they are caught in the corporate red tape. We will probably get an answer after the need is gone.
The ladders that Werner is sending are 12' ladders which will work on most of the houses except for those that are much taller than most. So, I am holding out on cancelling the requests from the others so we might still get the 20' also.
You are welcome to ask for the ladders from the "free cycle" but as you said, it is going to be difficult to place them in the right hands.
If you want to wait until tomorrow and let me see if I get an answer then I will let you know. When I talked to the county officials they need everything that has to do with the construction side of this disaster. Maybe I will get a list of those things too. Thanks for your response.
